Do you Meditate?

I know, the word meditation usually gets an eye roll and then people want to change the subject. Or, did you want to give me an excuse? Perhaps you have tried and just got frustrated.
Think back to when you were a child. Did you trust anything that you didn't feel in your body? I am sure you did not. We need to have a full-bodily-felt experience to trust that it is happening!
It is likely that you have reached the meditative state and didn't realize it. People often confuse the gateways and triggers to help get into meditation as the act of meditating. Allow me to demystify this for you.

The state of meditation, trance and sleep are closely related. Your brain has the potential to naturally enter a trance state every 90 seconds. This is how a skilled hypnotherapist can draw you into this realm. Have you ever tried to get someone's attention when they are deeply involved in watching something on TV? Perhaps you have walked in front of them and stood there trying? Did they see you? They were hypnotized by the TV and enjoying chemical releases of dopamine. Here is more on this by one of my favorite authors John Gray.

When the body finds the state of meditation and is in need of sleep—it usually sleeps. Let it! This is very rejuvenative! Go with it. When people first begin to practice guided meditation they often fall asleep. This is a good thing as the body was likely really exhausted!
Visualization is just that. It is creative and lovely and I encourage it however it is a gateway to meditation and not the true state. Imagining is part of this.
Truly there are only three entry points into meditation.

1. Physical movement such a sport, dance, walking running or cleaning. This can easily trip the brain into a trance.

2. Creative visualization, guided meditation, or hypnotic suggestion. You are invited to try this out in my podcast Meditate with Ambika.
These first two are ways to settle into meditation. I am a true advocate of both of these methods and use them often myself! It is important to realize that creative visualization is not the deep-trance-state of meditation—it is a gateway to the meditative state.

3. The third is the true state of Meditation. It is the deep-trance-state and is accomplished by these three things:

1. Sit up straight. I know this sounds easy but it is really important to give space to the lungs so that you are able to breathe comfortably and fully. In addition the elongated spine gives space to the body and takes pressure of the central nervous system.

2. Close the eyes. This is easy, just relax the lids down and shut out the light. If you can find a darkened space or shroud your head and eyes with a shawl.

3. Focus on the breath coming in and out of the nostrils paying close attention to the quality of the air across the inside front edges of the nostrils. Many of the ancient texts are translated to say, "Focus on the tip of the nose." This is only going to make you cross-eyed! The secret is that you are going to notice a change in sensation of air as you breathe it in as compared to the exhalations through the nose. On the way in during an inhale the air is going to feel cool and fresh. On the way out during and exhalation the air seems to disappear. This becomes the point of focus.

That is it. Just these three things!

If the mind is engaged in following something you are not meditating yet. You are still trying to relax. This is why when you are listening to a guided meditation you might drift into sleep or you could come to a realization later that you somehow missed a large chunk of the words being spoken. I do not recommend using video for meditation as it puts too much blue light into your body and this prevents you from really letting go into the meditative state. When you are trying to focus on something—you are closer to centering then the true state of meditation.

All meditation gateways potentially lead to the full-bodily-felt sensation of the deep-trance-state. This is our true state of being. This is where the boundaries of the seeming edges of the physical body disappear and we merge into the state of oneness where we are pure energy.

Indeed meditation is a stress reliever. In the meditative state we have the ability to tap into the unified mind. We become one with the greater where—just as the statement by the great statesman Cicero suggests, "Everything is alive and everything is interconnected."

Here is the secret sauce: It is best to stay focused on relaxing. Forcing the mind and engaging it with a topic is exhausting. Just drift and float in the relaxed state of meditation once you feel it.

We find brilliant insights and gain information from the practice of meditation—and it is an on-going practice—is after we have been in the deep-trance-state and begin to realize that we are once again in a body. It is a good idea to keep the eyes closed at this point. This is where the brilliance happens so be sure to have a journal near by to write everything down!

I am happy to coach you and to create customized guided meditations for you to use. Contact me here.

What is the best solution for stress? Rest! Next, clean diet and health habits like bathing more. Sleep more when you are able.

Guided meditation is entertainment for the mind. It is like giving a monkey a banana. It is a pacifier. It is indeed valid and useful as a stress reliever but please do not mistaken it for meditation.
It is possible and even probable that one could focus on specifics like the ideas of emotions and a particular chakra and drift into the meditative state.  *Remember, these are gateways and that we do not find information in meditation.
In meditation we find stillness and supreme quiet.

Any ideas or brilliance come to us as we are exiting the state of meditation—not while in it. If we are conscious of thought we have exited the state of meditation.

Shifting brain wave influence can indeed bring inspiration and ideas. This is not meditating. Meditation is quiet stillness. Here is information about brainwaves you may find interesting.
I realize I am blowing up some preconceived ideas here and am happy to address further questions.
Meditation is an art. Therefor it is best to learn techniques from an expert.

Clean and Clear you must Jedi! ~ Yogini Yoda

The burning of Sage and other magickal herbs is a lovely technique and I use it often. I enjoy using Palo Santo for sweetness however my go to daily cleanse is essential oils in a very old and cherished hand-blown glass atomizer. I run a combination of oils in my sleeping space every morning and usually use a combination of Clove, Oregano, Thyme, and Helichrysum oils. This keeps one extremely healthy and free of viruses, bacteria, and is quite effective for keeping the physical body clear of parasites.
Please note that one should conduct internal cleansing twice a year preferably in Spring and Autumns to keep clear of potential illness.
In addition I use Selenite and Shungite crystals throughout the house along with many more for various purposes. Selenite clears and cleans anything it touches. I also place a piece in one of the pillow cases on my bed and keep a large rod of it on my desk where I work and on my divination table. Shungite transmutes negative energy into positive and I feel it is of the utmost importance to create as much positive energy that we are able to. Both stones absorb EMFs. Please note that these two crystals are self-cleaning and never need to be in water.

Do not attempt to make elixirs from Selenite or Shungite as they are toxic! Selenite is quite fragile and does not work for jewelry however cleansing your necklaces, rings, and bracelets by placing them touching Selenite when not wearing them helps the stones and metals to generate at peak performance when placed upon the body after such a cleansing!
Shungite is a great stone to wear though I do not recommend bathing with it on the body.

It has a concentration of Arsenic as do other stones like Tiger's Eye and Malachite. The two latter should never be used in an elixir either! It is important when choosing crystals to learn the chemical compounds as well as the magickal uses! This of course is true of the plant world!
I also always keep a few Himalayan salt lamps on in various rooms as well which clean the air and keep negative ions generated. This helps dust to fall to the floor and keeps the air very clean as well as creating a great deal of happiness.
Bathing is of the utmost importance! It is recommended to bathe in the morning upon rising and in the evening before retiring. When we submerge in water or stand in a shower the energetic fields of the body dry in and like a sponge wring out anything they have picked up.
Try using salt rather then soap to really shift your energy!
Please let me know how this works for you!

Know thyself you must Jedi!

In the age old wisdom of the Vedas, four books of science and knowledge from the ancient eastern lands is written: आत्मानं विद्धि pronounced AtmAnaM viDhi. It is the phrase, "Know Thyself." This is one of the true purposes of Meditation and the Psychic Arts. AtmAm is the nature of one's soul, the true self. This is the light and energy that science is just now acknowledging regarding what we human beings truly made of. What this esoteric statement is poetically teaching is this:
1. Direct experience is the foundation of true knowledge.
2. In order to truly experience anything, one must fully merge with it or become one with it.
3. The experience one has determines the quality and ability to fully merge.
4. All dualities must be embraced and unified. One must move beyond, “I like it, I don’t like it,” and be fully immersed in, and unified with the experience.
5. It is human nature to avoid dualities. This is a quality of beta behavior. Therefore we must push through and embrace seemingly uncomfortable situations. How do you accomplish this? If you believe you do not like something, can you accept that others do? Can you be comfortable in a situation that you normally avoid? Can you immerse yourself in what you perceive as uncomfortable and find acceptance?
6. In your quest, the mind identifies obstacles. The mind fools you. You are not the mind. The mind is a tool that you have a unique connection to. It is exterior. The mind constructs what you perceive as reality.
Strive to find the light in your own being and in the being of others and all things. The greatest gift the world has to offer you is knowledge. Realize there is no such thing as time for you truly are an infinite being wearing the cloak of a physical body, like the robes of a wizard. Become fully absorbed in all experiences and wear your wizardly robes humbly.
When you are able to become fully absorbed in situations and fully embrace them, there is no possibility of being disturbed or distracted. Duality confuses the mind to perceive that all things are separate from the observer.
Just as are motto of Grey School, where I teach says, “Omnia vivunt, omnia inter se conexa,” which translates to, “Everything is alive, everything is connected,” we must not just accept the statement but become it!
Practice silencing the mind in the deep-trance-state of meditation and know thyself!

The unattached mind is the cosmic spaceship to enlightenment, Jedi~Yogini Yoda

Enlightenment—what does the mention of the word bring to mind?
Perhaps you see the clouds parting and a light beam blazing on your path?
I wonder if it is valid to state such a claim. My Jedi senses say, no. It is difficult to experience an experience without becoming attached to it.
I wrote about this in my second book Unfolding Happiness.   The way I see it is that experience are like a river  that once stepped in, one cannot duplicate the experience.
Each week I field conversations from people that have received convoluted information via what ever lineage or teacher or school—it really doesn't matter. Much of the information floating around has been so manipulated and convoluted that is is almost unrecognizable!

The core information is heinously derivative regarding:
Chakras, Mantra, Postures, Pranayama, Kundalini, Energy, Diet...you name it. It all seems very screwed up and that people take what they like and change what they do not think they like or do not know and understand—and make it into what ever suits them in the moment.
This seems to be symptomatic of all Yoga Schools for instance imagine I am different schools speaking here:
I like wine or chocolate so I will make a practice around Yoga postures and wine tasting or chocolate eating. I am tired so I will declare that meditation happens lying down rather than sitting up.
I believe it is easier for people to always begin on the right side so I will make everything I do begin on the right rather than using the true information and the reasoning concerning elemental causation, physiology and cosmology behind techniques.
I like chicken and fish so I will eat this and call myself a vegetarian.
I like the pretty colors of the rainbow so I will declare that chakras are these colors...
...and negate what is really going on inside of each powerful energy center.
I want to look like I belong in Cirque de Soleil so I will focus on ridiculous postures that make me look good on Instagram.
I will put a lot of love and good intention into my chanting so it does not matter that I have no clue about the words I am saying or the proper pronunciation. Case in point: कर्मन karma translates to: Action. कार्म kArma adding a longer "A" sound changes the meaning to: belonging to a worm!
Therefore the belief that as long as I have good intention I can negate the cosmos, the Lord of the day or hour and do as I please—turns out to be grossly incorrect!
Yoga has become an exercise program that is branded Yoga. It is exercise with a sprinkling of spirituality. This is not what Yoga is! Yoga has only one intention: Meditation!
The convoluted belief system continues:
Yoga postures are a full practice when I add a little mindfulness.
I don't need to read or understand the Bhagavad Gita or Patanjali to be a Yogin.
I am a great Yogi after 200, 300 or even 500 hours of training.
I am enlightened, I am awakened,I have had a Kundalini experience, therefore my third eye is opened up!—I find this one particularly annoying and field it at least once a week.
Energy workers, massage therapists, psychologists and wannabe shaman are all spouting this nonsense and most of the time the individual has not even experienced a Kriya of any sort.
Let go of looking for this. Just breathe and experience and let things happen naturally.

What is Jyotisha?

All countries are curious about the effects of the stars and planets.

The Vedas have three daughters: Yoga-Mind, Ayurveda-body and Jyotisha-Spirit.
Jyotisha is the Science of Light. Light is spirit. It involves the tracking and predicting the movements of astronomical bodies.

Jyotisha is one of the six Vendagas:
Shiksha This is the Science of phonetics, phonology, and It is a discipline focused on the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet. Of the utmost importance is accent, quantity, stress, melody and rules of the euphonious combination of words during Vedic recitation.

Chandas Poetic meters, including those based on fixed number of syllables per verse, and those based on fixed number of morae or fixed weight of syllable, per verse.

Vyakarana The analysis of grammar and linguistic analysis having to do with the rules of grammar in order to establish the exact form of words and sentences to properly express ideas.
Nirukta The etymology and explanation of words, particularly those that are archaic and have ancient uses with unclear meaning.

Kalpa These are ritual instructions of standardizing procedures for Vedic rituals and rites of passage associated with major life events such as birth, wedding and death in family, as well as discussing the personal conduct and proper duties of an individual in different stages of life.

Jyotisha The mathematical determining of auspicious time for rituals, and the practice of Astrology and astronomy particularly having to do with time keeping.

...those who teach must practice~Yogini Yoda

A longtime friend who has no boundaries on his heart when it comes to sharing, sent a letter this morning to his followers telling of a nail-biting, floor-pacing, fear building ordeal he and his lovely wife experienced this last week with regards to the wellness of his unborn child. He spoke about praying in every breath and and in every moment.

It is a part of life to have an experience of set-backs. But deep despair...
...facing an unreal and difficult climb up what appears to be the cliffs of insanity...
...well now, this is a drop to your knees, take the wind-breath out of your sails, different story.

We tend to only udder the name of the Divine when feeling pure bliss and a sweating of DMT from the pineal gland or when faced with immense challenges, or in the throws of extasy.
This is when the mind melts away...
...and we are left with what we truly are: pure energy!

Many factors can hold us into what we perceive as prison walls. It is not the initial reaction which cause the challenge but the re-reaction! When we learn to pray to the Divine in each breath, then we are able to freeze the frames and really see the energy grids.
Indeed there are many methods that are ancient, such as connecting with master plants and shaman who conduct ritual ceremonies and guide you through the unseen world.
Or try a new technology like Blueprints For Changes.

This amazing creation utilizes the theory of behavioral science to relax the brain and the way it stores memories, which in-turn creates a happier healthier you!

But how do we handle this each and everyday, and each and every moment?
This is indeed a conundrum!

The secret is the breath, and how we view each breath.
This is the beginning, the starting point. But just as my friend stated with regards to his experience, he began to pray, not following every thought, but in every moment, for every action and on every breath.

The power of our sound, words and voice are unique and different than energy that originates and generates from any other chakra.

Our sound begins in the heart-space, blends with the breath in the lung area and is projected out of the mouth. It then circulates back in through the ears. This creates a circulation of happiness.
My friend found out that his soon to be born child is fine and is expected in a few weeks time. I hope that he continues to feel the power of his voice and prayers for they circulate and recirculate goodness for all!
Life is a daily practice, breathing is a daily practice. Keep on the path...
Keep practicing the breath while focusing on compassion and love.
Let the trapping of the world drift by as you meditate. Just notice in calm awareness.
